Bike Lane Violations in Oakland
BART prefers that you confine your walking to the Bus Lane
McArthur BART and 40th St, Oakland, CA
While technically, not a bike lane violation, I encounter this obnoxious behavior a couple of times a month at the McArthur BART Station.
Being considerate of other BART patrons, I walk my bike out the gate, across the pedestrian concourse, through the crosswalk and up to this pictured sidewalk to get to the bike lane on 40th St.
Evidently, it's BART's official policy to have their maintenance crews use their vehicles to make the sidewalk completely impassable. This forces you out into the oncoming lane of commuter vans picking up their passengers.
BART seems to have an FU policy to all bicyclists, so at least this behavior is consistent.
Emery-Go-Round doubles up on parking in My Bike Lane (Part2)
555 40th St, Oakland, CA
A pair of Emery-Go-Round buses parked at the MacArthur BART station opted to not park in the large stretch of space designated exclusively for Emery-Go-Round buses but rather in the bike lane.
This bus, not content on simply taking up the bike lane, was sitting well into the regual traffic lane with its blinkers on. The driver who declined to answer my question of, "Why are you parked in my bike lane?" was sitting in his seat talking on his cell phone.

These Emery-Go-Round buses parked at the MacArthur BART station opted to not park in the large stretch of space designated exclusively for Emery-Go-Round buses but rather in the bike lane.
This bus was turned off, parked at least two feet away from the curb, and there was no driver to be found.

MacArthur BART rasta cab chillin' in My Bike Lane mon!
555 40th St, Oakland, CA
To polite to park in along the curb painted blue and signed to designate handicap parking this cab stopped in the bike lane. This cabbie spent at least five minutes sitting in the bike lane with his blinkers on at the MacArthur BART station smoking and listening to reggae.

The Postal Service parked in My Bike Lane
360 Grand Ave, Oakland, CA
Despite the multiple open parking spaces (shown to the right of the truck) this mail truck was parked right smack in the middle of the bike lane forcing cyclists to chance traffic. The driver who was nowhere to be found had left the hazard lights on for what I can only assume were (in his mind) safety reasons.
